PRAYER ON INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY - JANUARY 27, 2023

No matter your nationality, or religious affiliation, or generation.  We are all called upon to show our respect and remember the six million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered by the Nazis during World War Two. We pray also for the Holocaust survivors of whom many are no longer with us.

Most of all we pray for the hope of our humanity -  to remember, to understand, and to guard against any darkness that might threaten the peace and stability of our future.

The following prayer is one which I composed, to the best of my ability,  to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day.   You may reprint it and distribute it freely.

Please join me in prayer....

Dear God,  we ask you to grant eternal peace and rest to all the souls of our brethren whose blood was spilt by the murderers in Auschwitz – Belzec – Bergen-Belson  Dachau –Sobibor – Treblinka – Flossenburg   Mielec   Buchenwald    Majdenek – Matthausen    Ravensbruck  –  Plaszow  –  Sachsenhausen  –  Chelmno – Stutthof - and from many other internment camps. We pray that their souls rest in eternal peace.

God, remember the victims whose lives were taken in this mass extermination – remember them each by name - remember the Jewish men, the women, and the children who perished in terrible fear and pain – remember the innocent victims who were slaughtered and whose remains were burned, or who were buried alive.   We pray that their souls rest in eternal peace.

Heavenly Father, we plead with You that all the world leaders will be guided by the Goodness and Rightness of Your Holy Commandments, and that the evil in their spirit will depart and retreat forever; that lawlessness and wars will cease to be, and be replaced by peaceful co-existence, mutual respect and mutual understanding, We pray for the world.

God, the Father of All, teach every one of us how to learn and how to understand; Open our eyes and ears so that our senses can truly perceive; let us not be fooled by the devious oratory of powerful men or powerful women; We pray for all peoples in all the nations to follow the path of light and love.

Amen
